Functionality and areas of application

The 2.5 kW electric heating element is ideal for retrofitting buffer tanks, domestic hot water storage tanks, and solar storage tanks. The insulated heating cartridge ensures efficient heat transfer while preventing corrosion.

With the standardized 1½" male thread connection, the heating element can be easily integrated into enameled containers and steel storage tanks. Whether as a support in the heating system or as a primary heat source, this device offers a reliable solution in many applications.

Technology

The heating cartridge has an installation length of 370 mm, with the unheated zone from the sealing surface measuring approximately 120 mm. At an operating voltage of 3~400 V, it delivers a constant heat output of 2,500 W.

The continuously adjustable thermostat allows temperature adjustments between 30 and 75 °C, while the integrated safety temperature limiter (STB) is set at 98 °C. The IP54 protection rating guarantees safe operation even under demanding environmental conditions.

Safety and corrosion protection

A key feature is the built-in insulation separation: It separates the heating conductor from the protective conductor, thus minimizing galvanic currents that would promote corrosion in metallic storage tanks. This significantly increases the service life of buffer tanks.

The pipe jacket material 2.4858 (Incoloy 825) offers excellent resistance to aggressive media and extends the maintenance cycle. The brass screw head and ABS housing complete the high-quality design.

Assembly and installation

Before installation, it is essential to check the maximum installation length of the storage tank to avoid damage. The heating element can be screwed into the storage tank without special tools using a 1.5" screw connection.

The externally mounted thermostat facilitates subsequent fine adjustment of the desired temperature without having to open the storage tank. The IP54 protection rating allows installation in utility rooms with varying humidity and dust conditions.
